Time away is part of doing good work. Plan it, take it, and enjoy it. Your manager wants you rested.
Ask as early as you can so your team can plan around you. Short notice is fine for a single day.
Unused vacation days reset on January 1. The hub will remind you before then.

Feeling unwell is not something to push through. Rest, recover, and come back when you are ready.
You can use sick days for your own illness, a medical appointment, or to care for a family member who is sick.
You never have to share medical details with your manager. Just let them know you are unwell.

0medical details needed to take a sick day.
3+days in a row may need a note. HR will tell you if it does.
